We take pride in holding ourselves to the highest standard of integrity and excellence in all that we do.As a Senior Advisor, you will lead complex projects and manage large budgets to drive value for the business.By using your skills as a storyteller you will create and execute marketing and communications plans to support customer, community, stakeholder and employee communications for the North of 60 companies in ATCO: ATCO Electric Yukon and Northland Utilities.

You will also work closely with the marketing and communication team within the ATCO Utilities Division, which includes Natural Gas and Electricity, in which you’ll dive deep into our business strategy and work with our internal customers to deliver innovative and effective marketing and communications to help them achieve their business objectives.The Senior Advisor is responsible for customer communications, web presence, social media, community investment, event management, media relations and employee communications.

If you are someone who approaches work with passion, curiosity and the courage to innovate, then this role is for you.What You Get To Do:Research and understand policy, regulatory and industry issues and opportunities to ensure communications to community and stakeholders are relevant, timely and effective.Develop comprehensive marketing and communications plans, issues briefs, community consultation strategies and Q& As for example.Work collaboratively across the Marketing & Communications function, as well as across all areas in the organization supporting a one ATCO approach.Participate in the planning and execution of crisis communications, as required.Develop and maintain relationships with key media across the Territories and nationally.Responsible for all media requests and on-call social media support during emergencies and unplanned outages.Write news releases, media advisories, facilitate media requests, plan press activities and coordinate approvals in adherence with our Disclosure policy.Develop key messages, media Q& As and fact sheets, and secure b-roll and photography as required.Research, develop, manage, execute and measure effectiveness of integrated marketing communications to support business strategies for both external and internal audiences (including customers, community stakeholders, municipal, territorial and federal governments, media, industry associations, Indigenous communities, investors etc.).Create compelling, informative and audience-centric marketing and communications materials including: internal briefs, key messages, executive speaking notes, customer and stakeholder presentations, brochures, videos, photo library, advertising copy, annual and sustainability reports, digital and print content.Ensure ATCO’s brand, including both our voice and visual identity, is consistently implemented throughout all communications and marketing materials, including, but not limited to: web, social, email, print, video, corporate reports, advertising, presentations and speeches.Measure effectiveness of projects or campaigns through effective use of data, analytics and customer feedback mechanisms.Manage and optimize internal, digital and traditional communications channels to optimize employee engagement including but not limited to: employee events, calls, town halls, Yammer, intranets, e-newsletters, email announcements, appointment announcements, digital screens, print materials, etc.:A post-secondary diploma or degree in communications, public relations or a related field (experience and equivalencies may be considered).7-10 years of progressive, related experience in marketing and communications.Experience developing comprehensive marketing and communications strategies in support of business goals.Well-developed project management skills while working under tight deadlines and managing multiple customer demands and priorities.Demonstrated knowledge of communication principles in a corporate setting.Experience in consulting and liaising with various internal and external stakeholders.Exceptional writing and storytelling skills (written and verbal).The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently in a diverse business environment.Experience working with the media or in a media environment.Proficiency in SharePoint or other content management system.High attention to detail.A strong customer-service focus, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships at all levels of an organization.Knowledge of the energy or utilities sector would be an asset.Professional membership with CPRS / IABC or other related professional association would be an asset.We would like to thank everyone for their application; however, only those being considered for an interview will be contacted.ATCO North of 60 is part of ATCO Ltd.
