(CAN) Specialist, National Inbound Compliance Supplier Relations

This is a Contract position in Ottawa, ON posted March 9, 2021.

Position Summary This role ensures Supplier Quality Excellence through defect elimination, value-added services and zero-based mindset.

The role establishes end-to-end quality by pursuing Supplier compliance.

The role is responsible for strategic planning and execution of all inbound receiving initiatives, Canada wide, for all business channels.

The role is also accountable to collect and administer a budget, by business unit, for Supplier defects.

Development of Walmart Canada’s Supplier Information Manuals (SIMs) for process improvements for all business channels is key to success for this role.

What you’ll do Optimize operational handling, to maximize productivity, by evaluating, measuring and monitoring Suppliers inbound quality.

Lead key partners in Operations, Replenishment and Merchandising to deliver and flow product for Domestic, Import and Seasonal programs throughout Canada.

Support onboarding new Suppliers by developing process flow solutions.

Ensure Suppliers comply with Walmart standards and drive continual improvement against identified opportunities by improving end-to-end accuracy and visibility.

Develop Supplier Information Manuals (SIMs) by business channel (RDC / HVDC / PDC / GDC / ADC / IDC / DSDC / Ecommerce), in conjunction with stakeholders, while ensuring continuous updates for process improvements.

Create and maintain SOP’s and training programs.

Accountability to produce annual budgets, monthly forecasts and week over week analysis of business trends for inbound compliance and Supplier scorecard performance.

Operational lead for Year Beginning and Golden Quarter meetings.

Leverage affiliation with Food Safety and Quality Control to mitigate risk
– Safe Food for Canadians
– Preventative Control Plan.

Qualifications Post-secondary education in business, logistics and/or supply chain management.

Completion of relevant post-secondary courses from a Transportation & Distribution program desirable.

General knowledge of freight procedures and processes.

Customer service skills including effectively and efficiently responding to all internal and external customer inquiries; identifying stated and unstated customer needs; building relationships with team members, management and customers; resolving any conflicts or problems that might arise; etc.).

Issue management skills including time management (multi-tasking); information gathering, problem-solving skills (identifying and correcting errors).

Communication skills including written (forms, reports, memos); and verbal (internal with other departments and team leaders; external with customer, vendors, distribution centers and freight carriers) Computer skills including general knowledge of data entry, word processing; and spreadsheets.

Interpersonal skills (working with employees at all levels, ability to work well with others in a team setting, etc.).

Ability to analyze financial data and computer data for daily reporting.

Must be able to present in front of large groups and have medium or better Powerpoint skills Minimum 5yrs previous supervisory experience including the supervision of multidisciplinary employees.

Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends, long weekends and stat holidays French language skills would be an asset Minimum Qualifications Outlined below are the required minimum qualifications for this position.
