This position may be located at our Montreal offices or remote from within the surrounding St.

Bruno, South Shore, or Montreal areas.Position OverviewThe DevOps Specialist plays a key role within the Embedded Software Development team, maintaining and improving the infrastructure for the development, integration and deployment of software products.

In support of the development team, the developer is responsible for the generation of software versions, contributes to the development of internal tools and the optimization of the various processes used in the product development lifecycle.

As a DevOps specialist, the candidate is passionate about IT and keeps abreast of CI/CD best practices, and is thus able to propose and deliver optimizations of the existing infrastructure, while using the best practices and avant-garde technologies applicable to the development of infrastructures for new products.The DevOps is part of the development team, and therefore works closely with developers, product managers (technical and marketing), project managers and other members of the software team.

He participates in sprint planning exercises, daily Scrum meetings, and end-of-sprint reviews and retros.Due to his or her expertise, he or she will also be called upon to collaborate with other teams within Eaton, with the objective of helping to standardize and develop the infrastructures used by other teams, to contribute to the success of collaborative projects or to Ensure the implementation of DevOps infrastructure of a family of products that share features or combine to offer integrated solutions.Making what matters work at Eaton takes the passion of every employee around the world.

It’s where bold, bright professionals like you can reach your full potential—and where you can help us reach ours.Essential Responsibilities Maintain and improve development environments, and automate their deployment; Maintain and improve the DevOps environment used by software development teams, including automated software build tools and environments, test environments, dashboards, etc.; Manage the deliveries of software products, producing the deliverables and coordinating the various related activities that depend on them; Contribute to the improvement of our internal tools and the processes in use within the software team; Guide and support the development team in the use of the DevOps infrastructure.

When we embrace the different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds that make each of us unique, we — as individuals and as a company — are stronger.Required Qualifications College degree (DEC) in computer science or related discipline; 1 year of application development experience in a Microsoft Windows or Linux environment; Knowledge of C++; Bilingualism (French and English), oral and written; Must be legally authorized to work in Canada without company sponsorship.

Must reside within an 80km radius of our St-Bruno or Montreal office, can work remote if residing within the surrounding areas of St-Bruno and/or Montreal.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science or other related discipline; Knowledge of Microsoft Team Foundation and Microsoft Azure DevOps; Knowledge of container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.); Knowledge of virtualization tools (VMWare, VSphere, etc.); Knowledge of Windows (10, Server, CE) and Linux operating systems.
