Squamish Nation is hiring a Senior IT Systems Administrator to join our team!

We are embarking on a new chapter of growth and development with innovation at the forefront!As a Senior IT Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for leading key IT systems and infrastructure projects, including public and private cloud initiatives.

This is a challenging role requiring the ability to understand complex technical issues and propose effective solutions.

You will use your extensive IT knowledge to propose, plan, and execute systems, cloud, and infrastructure projects for Squamish Nation.

You will also contribute to mentoring and coaching other IT team members.Your ResponsibilitiesAs a Senior IT Systems Administrator with Squamish Nation, you will work alongside a dedicated team, stretching your abilities by solving complex problems.

Your key responsibilities will include:Lead daily activities including system back-up, upgrades and running scheduled maintenance and overseeing the operation and maintenance of network servers, routers, switches, firewalls, etc.Spearhead, support, and oversee Microsoft 365 and Azure administration including Exchange, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams.

Manage the Nation’s Server Support Architecture (iLo Server Management), computer inventory and management and Windows troubleshoot end-point solutions or inventory/deploying new packages.

Support the Nation’s transition to cloud-based infrastructure while continuing to support and service existing hardware.

Design and implement new server and infrastructure hardware and software that are optimized for system reliability, availability, and maintainability.

Document system designs and architectures using tools such as Microsoft Visio.Support Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NTFS Permissions, Shares, and Printer Management, including WSUS, VB Scripting, PowerShell.Maintains and understands systems, regulatory requirements, and security interdependencies of hosting systems.

Help to mentor and coach IT team.Your Background & Qualifications4+ years of related work experience in Systems Administration Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related field.Excellent knowledge of and experience working with authentication, communications and collaboration systems such as Microsoft Exchange (email), Microsoft Lync, Microsoft Active Directory.Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work professionally with end users of varying levels of computer competency.

Excellent knowledge of network protocols (e.G.

DHCP, DNS), VMware, storage array solutions.Experience in Windows 10 and supporting Windows Server 2008/2012, 2019 administration.

Experience with Microsoft SQL server backup and restores.

Experience working within ITIL (or equivalent) framework (Incident Management Change Management, Release and Deploy Management, Problem Management).Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting, problem solving, and the ability to analyze, classify and document user requirements.

Highly independent and self-motivated with demonstrated ability to proactively execute and achieve results.
