About the role We’re looking for a Polymer Breakdown and Metallurgy Specialist to join our growing team Through a process of investigation and research, you will need to understand and identify the causal factors of damage while eliminating other possible causes.

You will have to recreate the sequence of events that led to the loss and validate these steps with current scientific knowledge.

By validating the hypotheses and testing the scenarios under study, you will have to apply the scientific method to the identification of the causes of losses.

In addition, you will have to produce short reports, and detailed ones in the case of major damages.

Finally, you will also be called to testify in court to present your expert opinion.

Workplace : Anjou (7101 rue Jean-Talon) What you’ll do here: Polymer hoses and accessories, flexible and semi-rigid pipes, various plastic parts: Analyze and identify failures of polymer and steel parts by NDT (non destructive testing) Conduct the survey and prepare the documentation following the diagnosis Confirm the study plan and inspection Collect and prepare documentation of samples and breakage types Pipe and steel parts Take the sample and analyze the types of breakage Perform various polymer non-destructive tests (NDT) by microscope or infrared spectroscopy Identify the manufacturers of the parts and verify the approval of the specimens Prepare internal or external metallurgical analyses and interpret results Collaborate with internal and external specialists Discuss evidence and prepare documentation to prevent litigation Qualifications What you bring to the table: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Engineering Physics, or equivalent combination of education and experience Minimum of (5) five years of relevant experience Skilled as an exposure device operator, certified Level I inspector in visual, radiographic and ultrasonic inspection Good ability to handle and adjust electron microscopes Communication skills, both oral and written Functional English level A team player who stands out in a collaborative environment Proactive, able to work independently and handle ambiguity Comfortable interacting at different levels of the organization Here are a few reasons why others have joined our team: Stimulating, challenging projects and development opportunities to help you grow your skills and career Flexibility in how and where you work Tight, collaborative team with a culture that encourages you to be yourself Development opportunities to learn, grow and build relationships A comprehensive financial rewards program that recognizes your success An extensive, flexible benefits package including $350 annual wellness account that promotes an active lifestyle Access to tools and resources to support physical and mental health A Community Impact program designed give you the flexibility to choose how and where you give back Closing Statement We are an Equal Opportunity Employer At Intact, our value of Respect is founded on seeing diversity as a strength, being inclusive and fostering collaboration.
