This role can be remote from anywhere in the United States or Toronto, Ontario.

Our HQ is located in Sunnyvale, CA and in a future (Post Covid-19) world, some travel to HQ will be required once a quarter.

What You Will Accomplish: Design and deliver Performance asks of large scopes with high confidence Collaborate with technical leads and identify product and architectural issues Develop tools to measure & monitor performance and identify bottlenecks in various Illumio products Lead Infrastructure and application performance tuning Distill volume data, analyze performance results, and diagnose performance problems Drive Capacity estimating, modeling, and planning Mentor and guide team members Actively contribute to resolution of Performance and Scale related production What You Bring: Proficiency in one or more programming languages like C++, Ruby, Python, Scala Experience building and leveraging tooling to explore and find scalability limits of distributed software systems Strong Database fundamentals spanning one or more of RDBMS, NoSQL Experience with telemetry tools (e.g.

Splunk, Elk or Time Series databases) Exposure to architectural patterns of large, high-scale software backends (e.g., APIs, high volume data pipelines, ) Understanding of Object Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts Ability to model configurations by analyzing software systems, business applications and their communication patterns Advanced knowledge of Linux/Windows based systems and tools Understanding of Distributed Systems and RESTful APIs Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field Who We Are: Illumio enables organizations to realize a future without high-profile breaches by preventing the lateral movement of attackers across any organization.
