Senior Process Engineer

In this role, you will provide direction and technical support in the area of process engineering for pipelines and pipeline facilities through operational optimization and troubleshooting as well as assisting the development, management, and execution of proposals and projects.

Apply today, we’d love to hear from you What you will do: Perform process engineering and hydraulic (steady-state and transient) analysis for pipeline and pipeline facility operations Mentor and advance process engineering and hydraulic modelling (steady-state and transient) proficiencies to the team and other partners.

Execute and/or peer review feasibility studies, conceptual designs, process studies, and detail engineering designs to ensure designs align with Enbridge quality processes, standards and industry regulations.

This will include authenticating documents as per APEGA requirements.

Review and provide technical direction in development of P&IDs, Shutdown Keys, control narratives, and associated engineering documents bringing a Process Safety perspective.

Use various tools such as hydraulic modelling software and operating data to analyze pipeline systems for design and maintenance issues, develop solutions, and issue formal technical recommendations.

Who you are: Completion of a degree in Engineering specializing in Process Engineering is preferred but other subject areas will be considered.

Must be registered or qualify to register as a P.Eng.

in the Province of Alberta.

7 years of progressively sophisticated process engineering experience.

Solid understanding of hydraulic modelling software such as Synergi Pipeline Simulator (SPS) is required.

Proven technical competence in process engineering within the oil & gas industry.

Solid understanding of pertinent Canadian and US regulations/standards including NEB Act and related regulations (e.g.

OPR-99, PPR), PHMSA regulations, applicable API standards, ASME B31.4, and CSA Z662 is required.

Ability to comprehend and provide mentorship on a diverse range of regulatory, operational, and sophisticated technical issues Ability to make technical recommendations in reasonable short order on all matters assigned.

May involve technical and/or business analysis or ‘making a case’ for the expenditure of significant resources.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions: Office environment with travel to Enbridge/customer/consultant offices, US offices and field locations 1-2 times per year.
