Assistant Store Manager (Calgary – Chinook Centre)

We are now seeking a dedicated Assistant Store Manager to join our retail team in Calgary at our Chinook Centre store location Candidates must have a successful track record in customer service and a sales-driven environment.

What does a typical workday look like?

Reporting to the Store Manager, most of your time will be spent coaching our retail team and assisting with day-to-day operations to ensure the store operates in the most efficient and effective manner possible.

You will implement plans to control costs, set daily goals for the team, host team chats in respect to their sales targets, store revenue, and growth.

You will support the Store Manager with creating the team schedule on a monthly basis, maintaining and improving staff performance through 1:1s and by hiring top talent for the store.

While in store, you will handle customer escalations, monitor daily sales to make sure the store is on track to achieve its sales targets, and ensure the store has the inventory needed to maximize revenue.

You will support our doctors and clinic staff by cultivating a positive and seamless patient experience across the retail floor and clinic.

You will also work cohesively with Opticians when troubleshooting and adjusting frames for our customers.

You will typically end your day by delivering a detailed EOS (End of Shift) report highlighting the day’s trends, and by creating an action plan for day ahead.

Because our mission to eradicate poor vision is now your mission too Because you know what you are talking about: you have at least 1 years of leadership experience in a retail or optical environment; a post-secondary degree or certificate in business management is considered an asset Because you have 2 years of experience in a specialty retail environment Because you are a strong leader and can coach in a fast-paced environment Because you are committed to driving sales and leading teams to reach revenue targets Because you are proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Because you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Because you can analyze revenue data and KPI’s to influence current trends and create plans Because you are a problem solver and a natural multi-tasker Because you have the proven ability to handle customer escalations in a professional and objective manner Because you know how to handle and manage confidential and sensitive information Because you have a flexible schedule with the availability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as needed What’s in it for you?
