Reporting to the Head of Academic Affairs and Operations in the School of Applied Health Sciences and the Michener Institute and UHN Digital Executive Director of Education Technology Innovation, the Director, Digital Solutions is responsible for all aspects of Information Management and Information Technology (IM/IT) at The Michener Institute.

Position Responsibilities:
• Develops and implements an IM/IT vision and plan for infrastructure, information management and applications, aligned with the Education’s strategies and the long-term needs of operational areas;
• Oversees the efficient and effective management of the information technology operational environment, including monitoring and management of servers, network, communications, appliances and applications
• Leads and motivates a team of IM/IT professionals, including responsibilities for organizational design and staffing, performance management, coaching and continuous improvement, and professional development
• Provides corporate leadership and expertise in IM/IT solutions, options, and opportunities in support of Michener operations, including business analysis and planning, product and software procurement, and support for strategic organizational initiatives
• Provides strategies, direction and oversight of application implementations and enhancements
• Develops and maintains partnerships with vendors, external associations and in alignment with the UHN Digital Team
• Implement appropriate governance for the delivery of IT/IM services, including advisory groups, corporate technology policies and procedures and internal project and department standards (e.g., ITIL, Service levels), planning and budgeting, and administration.

Position Qualifications
• Relevant undergraduate or advanced degree (e.g., computer science, engineering)
• Demonstrated success in delivering complex IM/IT projects and/or providing organizational leadership with a minimum of 8 years management experience
• Proven experience in cross-functional leadership and ability to work effectively with non-technical colleagues
• Thorough knowledge of IT functions and technologies, processes, service delivery models, governance and standards
• Understanding and/or expertise with academic and eLearning systems and applications is preferred
• Project and change management experience applied in successful delivery of complex organization wide solutions
• Ability to understand and practically apply enterprise architecture concepts
• Familiarity with Information Management best practices and their appropriate application
• Proven skills in negotiating with vendors and contractors
• Effective change agent who will provide leadership and coaching to technical teams, advice and support to end users
• Expert communication, team-building, organization and facilitation skills
