Regional Manager, Property and Assets

This is a Contract position in Bolton, ON posted August 7, 2021.

Shannex is seeking a Regional Manager, Property and Assets to support our facilities in Ontario.

As the successful candidate you will be joining a highly experienced team of property and asset professionals well versed in engineering design and building operations.You will be part of the team responsible for building and operating exciting projects in Ontario.

Reporting to the Vice President of Property & Support Services and with the necessary corporate support, you will be responsible for managing a multi-million dollar area, while creating and maintaining an environment that enables the residents and staff to flourish in our residences.

The successful candidate will be based out of Etobicoke, Ontario with the expectation of having a presence at all campuses in the GTA.

Who You Are… As the successful candidate you are a knowledgeable facilities leader who has a track record in building effective teams, has demonstrated successful collaboration across a matrix organization, and possesses a unique blend of process and strategic capability.

You will combine knowledge in design, construction, operations and a strong work ethic to build on the group’s solid foundation and create a truly world-class facility at Shannex.

You are well versed in the development and management of capital and operations budgets including executing plans and schedules.

You have a solid working knowledge of online maintenance management systems.

Finally, you have the proven ability to effectively present information and respond to high level questions from diverse groups ranging from leader to residents to internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful in the role, you possess the following qualifications or demonstrated experience: a CET, PEng, Chief Engineer, 4thClass Building Operator License, CEM, PMP, LEED, WELL, CMVP, BOMA/BOMI Qualifications OR Demonstrated Experience 10 Years’ Progressive Experience in Facilities Management & Operations preferably in a multi-site organization Detailed HVAC and BMS knowledge Experience in the transitioning of construction projects to the operations team Exposure and detailed knowledge of electrical and mechanical design, installation and commissioning, measurement and verification and energy reduction Exposure to LEED, WELL and Carbon neutral projects with the ability to lead projects In depth familiarity with ASHRAE guides Experience in researching, developing and implementing new technologies for our buildings Our Expectations of You… Actively participate with senior regional leadership to develop and understand the strategic plan for the region, then ensures the facilities and real estate portfolio supports the plan Develop and maintain a current Strategic Asset Master Plan for the region which supports the short and long terms goals of the strategic plan as well as aligns to system-level strategies for facilities and real estate Lead HVAC related matters Plan, organize, direct and ensure a best in class administration, operation and maintenance team responsible for the Shannex buildings and surrounding grounds.

Manage regional facilities operations, maintenance and repairs including but not limited to, building, mechanical, electrical and plumbing trades; custodial, grounds and landscaping; recycling; energy and utilities Provide direct and/or oversight project management for deferred maintenance and capital projects as required and consistent with Ontario Planning, Design, and Construction requirements Maintain a healthy culture of teamwork, transparency, and accountability.

Lead the development of long-range capital budget planning for the assigned Region.
