In recruiting for our team, we welcome the unique contributions that you can bring in terms of your education, opinions, culture, ethnicity, race, sex, gender identity and expression, nation of origin, age, languages spoken, veteran’s status, color, religion, disability, sexual orientation and beliefs.CHALLENGES TO BE METIdentify and develop new business opportunities for financing and consulting with focus on acquisition.Develop and implement a customer relationship retention/growing strategy to build a long-term profitable loan portfolio with existing clients while providing a high level of customer service.Manage a portfolio mix of borrowing and non-borrowing companies ensuring effective relationship management.Develop and execute an individual marketing plan ensuring alignment with business centre strategy and portfolio objectives while meeting financial objectives related to the forecasted loss rate, profitability, revenue growth and retention of clients.Use sound credit judgment to ensure high-quality loan proposals that represent acceptable risk levels and are in line with established standards and within the parameters of accepted credit practices and BDC policies and procedures.Analyze, negotiate and prepare high-quality loan proposals by applying thorough credit analysis, due diligence and sound account management practices.Develop an independent referral source (Centers of Influence) by leveraging existing networks and building new networks within the community (e.g.

influencers, chartered banks, etc) to facilitate new client acquisition.Keep abreast of local business opportunities by maintaining an active profile in the business community through participation in associations such as Chambers of Commerce, Boards of Trade, etc.Keep abreast of changes to policies, procedures and processes.WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FORBachelor degree in commerce or business administrationAn experienced banker with 3 years of experience with proven sales skills that has a passion for entrepreneurshipDemonstrated strength in business development and customer relationship management skillsSound credit judgment coupled with a strong understanding of credit policies and practicesAbility to identify business opportunities for entrepreneurs who will benefit from the unique range of BDC services (financing and consulting)Ability to develop and establish effective long-term relationships with influencers, business contacts and external partnersThorough knowledge of Bank products, services, policies and proceduresExcellent negotiation skills with a focus on resultsTeam player with a thorough understanding of the dynamics of the small business environmentExcellent interpersonal and communications skillsBilingualism may be required depending on the locationEQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYERAt BDC, we value diversity in our workforce and encourage all qualified candidates to apply.
