The Staff Accountant position serves as a critical link within our Core Services team, and is knowledgeable about HR, Payroll, AR, AP, Job Costing, and the General Ledger. The ideal candidate for this position will be familiar with working with ERP systems, payroll processing with job costing, and HR functions. We are looking for a strong team player, with excellent communication skills who is positive and enthusiastic, driven to succeed, and with a strong commitment to sustainable energy and business practices.  We value thoughtful analysis and ongoing conversations with internal departments to make sure Core Services is a solution oriented part of our organization’s administrative team.  Accountabilities:* Serves as In-office HR resource, to assist with document preparation and completion and general questions.* Team Member set up and Maintenance in ERP system, and communication of team member changes on a bi-weekly basis to external payroll processor.* Processes bi-weekly payroll fed by a variety of front-end time keeping systems, tracking PTO balances earned and taken, and funding of HSA and 401K payments.* Coordinates with external payroll processor for quarterly and annual payroll reporting.* Processes Team Member Expense Reimbursements within AP module of ERP system including Expense Reimbursement voucher entry and payment processing.* Process 401K and HSA ACH payments in conjunction with bi-weekly payroll* Preparation of Daily bank deposits for multiple business channels.* Other Accounting duties as assigned including but not limited to AR & AP processing, Job Costing Tie Outs to General Ledger, Balance Sheet reconciliation, and Fixed Assets Schedule maintenance* Is familiar with databases, report writing, Microsoft Excel and Google applications. Required Qualifications* 3+ years of relevant accounting, HR & Payroll experience* Passion for sustainability, clean energy, and energy efficiency* Associates Degree (or higher) in Accounting or Business Administration* Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written. (humor a big plus)* Friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic attitude* Excellent organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.* Ability to maintain ones’ own schedule and tasks independently.* Strong math skills* Exceptional attention to detail* Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Excel specifically) and the ability to navigate web-based platforms* Fast and accurate data entry* Strong ability to multi-task and mitigate unexpected interruptions within tight deadlines* Flexible, eager to learn and willing to do whatever it takes to make each project and our team at Southern Energy Management successfulThis is an excellent career opportunity with outstanding growth potential for the right individual.
