This is a Full-time position in Sioux Lookout, ON posted February 25, 2021.

Valard has full-service capabilities for transmission, distribution, substations, foundations, telecommunications and renewable energy.Valard is currently seeking a Primary Care Paramedic Diploma from an accredited program required for Valard’s WATAY Transmission project.

This is a Project specific position.

Rotation Schedule of 28 days of work and 14 days off.

Camp Job,RequirementsPrimary Care Paramedic Diploma from an accredited program AEMCA certified CPR AED Class G driver’s license Criminal record check Responsibilities Provide professional and efficient medical coverage to several crews in a vast area and provide emergency/ non-emergent care for ill or injured persons by taking the lead at emergency sites with a focus on providing pre-hospital care.

Maintain all required certifications.

Read and interpret applicable acts and legislation as well as policies and procedures defined by the contractor.

Work within the scope as outlined by the Medical Oversight Physician and provide effective patient assessment and treatment.

Accurately complete all required safety inspections and documentation daily.

Maintain cleanliness and stock of Mobile Treatment Centers and report any damage immediately High level of communication and human relations skills to readily develop rapport with members of the public, including the patient, coworkers, and/or witnesses, who may be distressed, to gather information needed to assess the situation; to provide a detailed patient report to medical staff; and to participate as an effective team member.

Effectively and professionally communicate with team members in person and utilize radio/telephone communications as necessary.

Ability to work under stressful situations, assess the needs of the patient, and exercise sound judgement in an emergency environment.

Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with Ministry of Health Basic Life Support Patient Care Standards.

Participate in continuing education initiatives.

Determine the nature and extent of illness or injury to establish care procedures Administer pre-hospital first-aid treatment and emergency care at site of emergency, or in specially equipped vehicle Establish and maintain IV treatment, apply adjunctive equipment for ventilation and circulation complications, administer medications, and provide other advanced treatment Communicate with medical personnel at emergency treatment facilities and assist medevac personnel with provision of medical treatment as necessary Valid, unrestricted EMT/PCP certificate with current CPR certificate Previous experience as an EMT/PCP (industrial experience an asset) Valid Class 4 or 5 driver’s license Assist OHS team as required BenefitsValard Construction LP is an equal opportunity employer, committed to a diverse workforce.
