This is a Contract position in Montreal, QC posted March 31, 2021.

About the role Our valued government client is currently looking for a Support Technician to provide 24/7/365 support for a satellite center.

The successful candidate will be responsible for logging and processing of technical events and generation of incident reports as well as assisting client with minor troubleshooting and modem configurations.

Other responsibilities include but not limited to Processing Satellite Access Requests and validating & implementing Satellite Access AuthorizationsAnswering SOC Phone, E-Mail, and chat messagesCoordinate satellite access and de-access activities with Operational unitsProviding On-the-job training for new SOC OperatorsPerforming shift hand-over briefingsCollecting and processing post-mission informationProducing weekly/monthly reportsRemote Monitor and Control of Satellite Anchor StationsWork 24/7 shift work Qualifications Valid Secret GoC clearanceControlled Goods Certified or ability to obtain oneRequires a two or three year College diploma as a Technologist and/or equivalent experience, specializing in electronics, telecommunications; and Specialized or formal SATCOM technology training from a recognized institution and/or equivalent experience.Experience with operation and monitoring and control of SATCOM systems; Experience in planning and/or execution of satellite communications activitiesAbility to communicate effectively with customer at a variety of authoritative levels; Ability to troubleshoot, using initiative and judgement, applying knowledge gained from previous experience; Possesses the flexibility and the ability for quick and knowledgeable response to technical and customer service related issues; Good appreciation of the customer’s facility, methods of operation and sensitivities; Knowledge and skill in using computer desktop applications (i.E.

Microsoft Office tools)Type of Assignment Full-time contract (until November with possibility of extension).

Hours will be on a rotational shift schedule.
