Our field of focus has grown beyond that of a typical e-commerce entity as we explore the nexus of content, commerce, and culture.Currently serving 150 countries, generating an average of 88 million monthly page views, and achieving high double digit annual growth since inception, SSENSE is becoming a cultural protagonist in its own right.Job DescriptionReporting to the Digital Communications Manager, the Social Media Specialist plays an essential role within the Communications team and the company at large, collaborating to develop compelling social media content informed by data-based insights, emerging social media trends, and community knowledge.

From ideation to research, production, and publishing, the Specialist will support with the development of strategies that align with SSENSE brand values and help grow our community exponentially.ResponsibilitiesIdeation and Amplification 45%Leverage historical data, community feedback, and upcoming trends to develop social media content that drives positive engagement and audience development across social media platforms including but not limited to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and TikTokIdeate and execute creative concepts in partnership with Marketing team stakeholders for key marketing initiatives that reflect the SSENSE brand values and point of viewContribute to the amplification of SSENSE editorial content on social media, developing and suggesting to leadership new content programs and amplification methods based on editorial stories to maximize content visibility and audience growthDevelop social media tactics for employer brand marketing that drives brand affinity, resulting in candidate interestOptimizing Platforms 35%Develop and maintain the social media contributors program, including user-generated content and influencer activations Remain reactive, respond, and engage in real time cultural moments to ensure SSENSE is part of the conversation Stay abreast of trends in social media, fashion, art, literature, and pop culture to develop strategies that will grow the SSENSE community at scaleSupport with paid social media execution to meet and exceed performance marketing targetsReporting and Benchmarking 10%Support with routine audience audits and competitive benchmarking to optimize growthCompile and conduct reporting, monitoring, and analyses to meet social media KPIs Engagement and Listening 10% Contribute to monitoring public and private engagement on all active social media platforms, including partnering with the Customer Care team when neededQualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related field such as Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or English LiteratureA minimum of 2-3 years professional experience managing a brand and/or company’s social media presence, with a proven track record for developing and executing successful social media campaigns that achieved positive growth and engagementPassion and expertise for emerging and established social media platforms and digital communities (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Wechat, Weibo, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Digg, Kik, Tumblr, etc.)Proficient with Microsoft Office, OS X, and Google productsExperience with Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, an assetExperience using social monitoring/listening tools to compile insightful and actionable reports Flexible schedule according to the social media life cycle, including evenings and weekends as requiredExcellent copywriting and communication skills SkillsEmploy flawless written communication skills, thorough internet culture understanding, and extensive pop culture, art, and fashion knowledge to continue to shape the distinct SSENSE social media tone of voice for both a global and local audiencesAbility to research, gather, and interpret data, as well as test and iterate ideasAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, performance-driven, cross-departmental environmentCreative and strategic thinker who is genuine, self-motivated, collaborative, and proactiveAbility to multitask and manage projects to meet deadlinesStrong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to build relationships; maturity, discretion, discipline, and professionalism are essentialA proficiency with and interest in photography and capturing visual contentHealthy obsession with pop culture, editorial/journalistic content, and current eventsDemonstrates a keen sensibility and knowledge of fashion, retail, technology, and marketing trendsApplication Requirements3 published writing samples 3 of your favorite memes3 of your favorite SSENSE brandsLinks to your social media profiles (minimum Instagram) and/or professional profiles you manage
