Altran: Cyber Security Engineer


This is a Full-time position in Montreal, QC posted February 24, 2021.

Purpose of the jobThe Lead Cybersecurity Engineer and works closely with other teams to ensure that all applications and systems are built, maintained and protected in accordance with policies, standards, and compliance requirements so that the risk is managed appropriately.

The candidate will assist with developing and implementing appropriate cybersecurity solutions.They are also responsible for strategic partnerships in Cybersecurity.

Key responsibilities and challenges1.

Managing a team of Security Engineers responsible for product assessments and requirement definition to ensure security of design 30%2.

Interface with other Sub-Systems/Third Parties for strategic alignment 20%3.

Stay up to date with industry standards and latest on network security vulnerabilities and countermeasures 15%4.

Product development and planning for next generation communications Systems 30%5.

Create networks in the industry to stay updated with the industry via conferences, meetings, discussions 5% Job Profile Grading Specifications Qualifications & Functional Knowledge 10+ years of experience required with:3+ years in a Cybersecurity Capacity in the Rail SectorStrong foundation in Security by Design and having implemented this on multiple products and managed the risks through the lifecycle of the product.Provide guidance and counsel to the senior management in defining objectives for information security, while building relationships within and outside the company.Lead cybersecurity technology planning and implementation.Establish annual long-term security and compliance goals, define security strategies,metrics and cybersecurity technology roadmap.Stay well-informed of cybersecurity threats, issues, and regulatory changes.Participate in security conferences and forums, engage in professional development tomaintain continual growth in skills and knowledge essential to the position.Share information and resources to facilitate better decisions, policies, and practices.Mentor the various product team to better incorporate a “security by design” approachSupport the development of Disaster Recovery policies, procedures, and best practices to BT’s Information Security TeamEffectuate hardened security through developing product requirements that are essential to securing our end customer’s railway networksMust effectively analyze and treat Security as a holistic end-to-end endeavor spanning network edge to core.Establish processes to review the implementations of new technologies to ensure security compliance and resiliency.Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.Knowledge of the BusinessConscious of cost-effective solutions and products to minimize overall cost and maximize profitability.

Leadership – Management or Technical N/A Problem SolvingMust be self-driven and motivated to solve issues independently with little oversight.Area & Nature of Impact This is a key role for the company and needs to be fulfilled by a well-rounded candidate.Interpersonal & Communication Skills Superior verbal/written communications skills are a must as this person will be the key Security Representative globally internally and externally.
