Social Worker, Counsellor, Psychotherapist (Video-Counselling) Lifeworks by Morneau Shepell Remote, Canada Full Time Summary: Reporting to the clinical manager, the video-counsellor will be providing video-based short term counselling to Morneau Shepell’s clients.

Video-Counsellor and client have access to the Morneau Shepell password-protected platform.

Responsibilities: Provide short-term counselling to a diverse set of clients dealing with various personal issues that may or may not be work-related; Evaluate client needs and work with them to set objectives and develop a strategy to achieve them, within the terms and conditions of the client’s EAP; Manage the administrative requirements as dictated by Morneau Shepell’s clinical models.

Succeeding as a Video Counsellor will require the following core qualifications and skills: Master’s Degree in Counselling, Psychology, or Social Work; Registration with a national mental health association; Minimum five (5) years post-graduate counselling experience with multiple populations; Bilingualism is an asset; Ability to set realistic objectives and use a solution focused approach; Ability to clinically manage high-risk cases, including clients who are a threat to self or others; Able to work with individuals and couples, and good knowledge of community resources; Excellent verbal and written communication skills with excellent time-management and organizational skills; Knowledge and comfort using PC Software products is required; Comfort with computer mediated counselling.
