Educate | Problem Solve | StrategizeThe successful candidate will work directly with Mentor Works clients, prospects and strategic partners to assess their strategic challenges and growth opportunities.

The main responsibilities of the Business Development Representative will be to reach out to new and existing clients to explore government funding program opportunities.

This role will be a balance of new client acquisition and re-engagement of existing clients.

You will assist the Business Development Team with pipeline management by identifying funding opportunities and closing select programs.

The core responsibilities will include: Client Re-engagement – 25%Connecting with existing clients owned by your own territory and specified team member(s) to identify future funding opportunities.

It is critical that we ensure our clients never miss out on a funding opportunity.

This role will leverage a mix of reports, email campaigns, phone calls, and personalized communications to engage with clients and uncover possible funding for their strategic initiatives, working collaboratively with pre-selected sales teammate(s).

Funding Opportunity Identification (Focus Core Programs & New Funding Programs) –35%The Business Development Representative role will educate small businesses on a selection of grant opportunities and fully qualify the businesses.

This role will require the successful candidate to inform clients of funding eligibility and requirements, as well as collect relevant information required to fully qualify them for funding and transition to the Funding Operations Team to write the applications.

Lead Generation – 25%The Business Development Representative will be responsible for new prospects and lead development of clients to serve our target audience of SME’s > 50 employees with innovative strategic investments of > $50,000 and above.

As you territory develops over the next two years, there will be a natural shift away from lead generation as you focus on re-engaging existing clients to maximize their lifetime funding value.

Strategic Partners Identification and Collaboration – 15%This position will be responsible for collaborating with potential partners/vendors/industry associations or networking groups on the potential synergy of government funding services supported by the President to execute and deliver.

This includes preliminary information education and enablement, interviews, completing the mandatory scope components, and assisting with follow-up activities.Responsibilities:Re-engaging existing clients through multiple communication methods to ensure they are aware of funding opportunities for their upcoming projects.Utilizing multiple communication methods, including emails, campaigns, time-delayed message sequences, phone calls, and business events to engage with businesses.Ensure the client’s demographic information and communication history is properly stored and maintained within Mentor Works’ business systems.Maintain knowledge of a selection of funding programs including key criteria and details required to effectively pair programs with various initiatives; all research is compiled internally into several available learning tools.The Business Development Representative will strategize and communicate with the Business Development and Operations team to identify new opportunities to engage and convert their clients.Meet with the writing team once per week (Monday) to discuss opportunities, progress, issues, etc.Manage the optimal Government Funding Services for a selection of client profiles.Gain fluidity and expertise in customizing CRM reports to complete data analytics on individual territory and gain insights from other best practices in Sales/Marketing.Establish processes to manage a new HubSpot Sequence every 21-28 days for outreach to enhance the effective use of marketing automation.Requirements:Excellent written and verbal communication skillsExperience and comfort with contacting clients over the phone and emailExtensive experience in customer support/service rolesOrganized and proactiveNatural problem-solving abilitiesAbility to support the activities of the team to ensure client commitments are completed in a timely mannerSelf-motivated and ability to work in a variety of environmentsExperience in a SME level ERP/CRM system such as Salesforce, Sugar CRM, Zoho CRM, Microsoft Dynamics, Siebel, etc.Familiarity with Teams, Zoom or similar team collaboration toolsFamiliarity with Dropbox or similar cloud storage systems.Advanced use of Office 365, Salesforce, RingCentral, and web conferencing solutionsBasic Excel: multi-field filtering & sorting, pdf preparation
